The American themed Buffalo Bar has finally opened in Brisbane. With the opening brings many craft beers from the US on tap and in bottles that will suit even the fussiest of beer drinkers. Long gone are the days of just Budweiser imports to the many Australians when we now have craft brewers like Rogue and Sierra Nevada hitting our shores.

There are approximately 14 beers on tap and 46 different bottled beers to choose from. If you are in the mood to try as many beers as you can it’s best ordering in pots (285ml) which ranges in price from $5.50 to $9. For a longer lasting beer to ensure you enjoy the flavours then the 425ml glass (schooner) is recommended and range from $8 to $12. Bottled beer starts at $10 for the Samuel Adams brewed Boston Lager and up to $45 for the North Coast Grand Cru.

Australian beers are also available but really you are here for the taste of the US.

The food is American fare which should appeal to most people and works well with the beers on offer. Smoked beef brisket, crispy fried duck with waffles and the New England clam bake are all very tantalising.

The bar can get a bit crowded at times but there is enough bar staff on hand to keep the beer flowing.

The Buffalo Bar is a worthwhile visit for beer and food lovers alike. With so many beers to choose from and with quite a few of those beers unavailable at your common bottleshop/pub/club you will keep coming back for more.
